Haslucks Green School needs your vote for their Illuminate to Educate Project.
The lights throughout our school are old, expensive to run or broken. In an attempt to improve our learning environment and reduce our carbon footprint, we would like to install LED lights. The Department for Energy and Climate Change are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 80% by 2050 and we would like to do our bit towards helping achieve this goal.
The £12,500 M&S grant will go a very long way to enable us to replace the lights in our school hall, along the currently dingy corridors and the security lights outside the building. The cost of our installation is £13,500 and, according to our recent Energy Audit, we are predicted to make an annual saving of up to £1400. So it is an excellent return on our investment.
